Bass Circus: Community Guidelines, Consent & Participation Agreement
Welcome to Bass Circus! We are dedicated to creating an inclusive, vibrant, and safe environment for artists, performers, crew, and attendees. By purchasing a ticket, entering the venue, or participating in this event, you agree to adhere to the terms and standards outlined below.
1. Zero-Tolerance Harassment Policy & Safe Space Commitment
Bass Circus maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior of any kind.
Respect Everyone: Discrimination, intimidation, targeted harassment, or unwanted physical contact toward any guest, staff member, or artist based on race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, or physical appearance will result in immediate removal from the event without a refund.
Consent is Mandatory: Touch is strictly voluntary and mutual. "No" means no. A non-verbal or ambiguous response means no. Consent can be revoked at any time.
2. Interaction with Performers, Dancers & Staff
Bass Circus features live performance art, including aerialists, flow artists, roaming performers, stage talent, and pole dancers. To ensure the safety, dignity, and physical space of all performers:
Strict No-Touch Policy: Never touch, grab, slap, hold, or physically interact with any dancer, performer, or artist unless consent is explicitly requested and granted by the performer (e.g., as part of an interactive stage bit).
Respect the Performance Space: Maintain a safe physical distance from stage areas, poles, aerial rigs, and performance props. Do not reach onto performance platforms or enter designated performer backstage/dressing areas under any circumstances.
No Harassing or Degrading Behavior: Verbal harassment, catcalling, crude gestures, inappropriate filming, or invasive comments directed at performers will result in immediate ejection from the venue and a permanent ban from future events.
Tipping Etiquette: Tipping performers is welcomed and encouraged! Please place tips in designated tip buckets, boxes, or hand them directly to performers only when invited to do so without invading their physical space or interfering with their routine.
3. Photo, Video & Media Policy
Respect Privacy: Always ask for permission before taking close-up photos or videos of fellow attendees or performers outside of main stage photography.
No Flash Photography Near Performers: Flash photography or bright video lights aimed directly at aerialists, pole dancers, or fire/flow artists can blind them and cause serious physical injury. Flash photography is strictly prohibited near performance areas.
Media Release: By entering the event, you acknowledge that you may be captured in photos, audio, or video footage taken by official event media teams for promotional and archival use.
4. Substance Policy, Personal Responsibility & Harm Reduction
Know your limits and look out for your community. If you see someone who appears unwell, distressed, or in need of help, alert a staff member, security guard, or event representative immediately.
Bass Circus complies with all local, state, and federal laws regarding alcohol and controlled substances.
5. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver
By attending Bass Circus:
You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in a live music and performance event, including but not limited to high sound volumes, flashing lights/strobe effects, dense crowds, and active staging.
You release and hold harmless Bass Circus, event organizers, venue owners, staff, volunteers, and independent contractors from any and all liability, claims, or demands arising out of personal injury, property loss, or damage incurred during the event.
